Last Thursday we held a press event at a local venue, showcasing an exclusive menu and the entire Island Stories experience to a group of specially handpicked guests. We had a range of local press and bloggers from Essex attend the event and we are happy to say it was a great, fun packed evening.
As a new business in the industry we wanted to hold something where we could show off the exact dishes, flavours and menu that depicts Island Stories as a whole.
Below are some of the favourite picks from the menu:
It’s safe to say the breaded tuna, chilli and coriander jam was the firm favourite amongst the canapes. A meatier option that even though some were hesitant to try were surprisingly delighted once they had.
The quinoa and fresh coriander cake were also much loved among our guests, every time they were refilled they disappeared without getting a chance to take a sneaky bite ourselves.
Bowl Food –
Next up we had several bowl food dishes, without a doubt the most loved had to be our stewed aubergine with sweet chilli, spring onion and coriander and jasmine flavoured wild rice. Again, slightly different and not the first thing you may have originally picked from the menu, however a yummy mix of flavours to create a unique dish.
Even though our guests were already full of the selection of foods they had consumed, we hoped our dessert would be the icing on the cake.
Our chocolate delice topped with passion fruit gel, two contrasting flavours, created a mouth-watering dessert. The passion fruit gel took the richness from the chocolate, ensuring our guests could eat every last bit.
Our island cultures inspired the menu to be everything that our Essex and London catering company represents. We hope everyone that attended the event enjoyed themselves and came away feeling as satisfied as they could.
