A Wedding Menu With a Twist

As I’m sure you’re well aware, weddings are stressful; choosing dresses, venues and who to actually invite on your special day are huge decisions. Catering however, shouldn’t be your main problem. Island Stories are here to make ticking off ‘catering’ from your extensive list of things to organise easy.

It is time to ditch the three-course wedding breakfast and move along with the exciting revolution of original and quirky food options. As we suggested in our previous blog; there are copious different options aside from beef wellington to consider and it looks like the canapé is the way to go.

2017 is the year of the paired canapé and who doesn’t love finger food?  Many couples are now opting for individual canapés paired with miniature glasses of wine or cocktails. You may be thinking, hang on, it’s not the 70’s, you can’t put food on sticks anymore? Alas, you cannot go wrong with our hot and cold canapés ranging from mini cod and fish, to smoked chicken and mango tartlets.

Another idea that seems to be flooding Instagram and Pinterest this year is DIY everything! Be it DIY prosecco or a DIY mimosa bar, everything is more fun when you do it yourself (especially when there’s prosecco involved). They’re so simple to create, pour the bubbly, add some juice, top it with fruit, and you’re done.

If DIY prosecco doesn’t scream ‘this is the best wedding ever’ then Food Trucks and street food certainly do. They’re perfect for couples that are after a more relaxed environment than a sit-down meal, plus there’s no reason to stop the party when you get hungry, people can eat as and when they please!
